The BJP held a rally in Khariar Road NAC and staged a demonstration in front of the NAC office to draw attention of the Government towards the problems of common people.
The demonstrators raised the issue of irregularity in distribution of ration cards, exclusion of poor households from food security scheme, etc.
They also demanded appointment of a lady gynaecologist at the Khariar Road CHC, supply of safe drinking water, renovation of traditional water bodies and cancellation of lease of water bodies for pisciculture, implementation of house hold latrines scheme under Swachh Bharat Mission for poor families, proper allotment of NAC cabins, etc.
The demonstrators submitted a memorandum of the demands to the tehsildar addressed to the Governor. The demonstration was led by Khariar Road BJP city president Sandia Sharma and Goldy Agrawal. Party leaders Sanjay Tiwari, Mahatab Mohammed, Manijar Arya, Jadumani Panigrahi, Mamata Sahu were also present.
The leaders gave 15-day deadline for fulfilment of the demands.
