The Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) workers posted in different panchayats of Khariar block are facing hardships due to non-availability of spaces for providing health services to the people.
Workers in at least six panchayats of Khariar block are unable to provide services in a proper way due to lack of buildings.
The officials of the Community Health Center (CHC), Khariar, have revealed that the ANM quarters constructed in Nehna GP has no accessibility as the land in front of the building belongs to private persons.
likewise, the ANM center constructed in Amalapali village of Areda panchayat has no water facility and electricity. “The Works Department did not consult the Medical Officer while selecting the sites for construction of the quarters. It would have been better had they consulted us and the panchayats while selecting the sites,” said BPM of Khariar CHC Wasim Raza.
“In Bhojpur and lachhipur GPs, there is no ANM building at all and the quarters in Duajhar and Birighat are totally in an unsafe condition,” he added.
“I will raise this issue in the next Zilla Parishad meeting,” said Chairman Khariar Panchayat Samiti Balakrishna Sabar.
