The Vigilance police raided the house of Khariar Additional Tehsildar Sadashiv Naik on Friday. His properties worth Rs 65 lakh were already been estimated till the submission of this report and the search was still going on.
The Vigilance team sealed Naik’s office chamber and the registration section of the tehsil before starting the search. Simultaneous raids were conducted in Naik’s house at Nuapada and official residence at Khariar. His brother’s house at Nuapada was also searched.
“Naik’s house at Nuapada has been estimated worth Rs 35 lakh and the cost of household materials would be worth Rs 4.5 lakh. Besides, he owns 2.42 acre of land. There are two bikes and an Indica car, one hundred grams gold ornaments and deposits of Rs 8 lakh in lIC and banks and Rs 67,000 in cash,” said Vigilance officials.
“Naik has a bank locker which is yet to be verified. He says the locker has been lost,” informed DSP Satyaban Mahanand, who led the team at Khariar. Mahanand was accompanied by Inspectors Sibaram Sahu and Sibaram Pani.
