A case has come to the fore in which a PDS dealer of Sangaon village under the Marshaghai police station has alleged that some co-villagers hurled three bombs at his house and looted away 11 quintal of rice. According to Marshaghai PS IIC Sukant Kumar Patra, Basanti Behera, wife of PDS dealer Jogendra Behera, lodged an FIR alleging that some fellow villagers hurled three bombs at her house at around 10 pm on Monday and forcibly took away 11 quintal of PDS rice. When she protested the accused also assaulted her physically.

Primary inquiry revealed that villagers had earlier proposed to the BDO to cancel Jogendra’s licence as PDS dealer alleging that he had duped PDS items. The villagers had also suggested that Babaji Behera be made PDS dealer in place of Jogendra. Police now suspect that the attack might have been a plot scripted by Jogendra’s family members. Investigation is on, informed Patra.
