An unidentified Kaudia died at Paikerapur village near the Dhabaleswar Temple here on Monday morning while another broke his leg at the shrine in a stampede in the queue to pour sacred water over the lord in the morning of the second Monday of holy month of Shravana.
As per reports, villagers of Paikerapur recovered the dead body of the unidentified Kaudia and sent it to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack through a 108 ambulance.
Another youth, Dilip Kumar Sahoo, of Keonjhar got his leg fractured in the stampede while he lost his balance in the queue.
His fellow Kaudias rushed him to the SCB MCH for treatment.
