The Vigilance sleuths led by DSP Surendranath Raiguru on Friday arrested Parikhita Jena, senior clerk of Judiciary Section in the Kendrapada Collectorate in a bribery case.
Jena was taking a bribe amount of Rs 1,000 from Chinmaya Kumar Rout, secretary of Srutipur based -Kendrapara Zilla Baliyatra Mahotstav Parisad of Pakshyot village for providing a permission letter from the Sub Collector to organise Baliyatra.
Rout had applied for permission at the judiciary section of Kendrapara district collectorate to hold the fest. Senior clerk Jena allegedly demanded Rout to pay Rs 2,000 in lieu of getting the letter.
After a complaint from Rout, a trap was laid and accused Jena was caught red-handed.
