The Vigilance police on Friday caught Ramesh Chandra Barad, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Karlamunda Tehsil in Kalahandi district red-handed, accepting a bribe of Rs.2,000.
Barad had demanded the bribe from complainant Biranchi Choudhury of village Karlamunda under the M Rampur police station in Kalahandi to demarcate his land.Following the seizure of money, his office room and residence at Utkela under the Kesinga police station in the district were searched. Later, Barad was arrested an forwarded to court.
