PNS

Police on Monday arrested a juvenile for allegedly killing his uncle in an area under the Bhasma police station in Sundargarh district on Saturday.

Earlier, an FIR was lodged in the police station in this connection and the police were searching for the deceased’s wife suspecting her to be the culprit.

The police on Monday came to know about the crime of the juvenile when the deceased’s wife returned and spoke about it to the cops.

One Pradip Munda (40) had married to one Rinki Oram and has a five-year-old son. Pradip and Rinki, who was second wife, used to quarrel most of the time.

On Sunday, Pradip’s nephew (sister’s son), a juvenile, lodged a complaint in the Bhasma police station that his uncle was killed by his aunt Rinki and later his aunt went absconded.

A team led by Bhasma PS IIC Ramesh Mahana reached the spot and seized the body. Based on the FIR, police had started searching for Rinki.

On Monday, Rinki returned to the village and told police that on

Saturday night Pradip’s nephew had beaten Pradip with a stick in front of her; and next morning, they found him dead. She further told police that she along with her son had gone to her parents’ house to inform them about Pradip’s murder.

“Police interrogated the juvenile, who reportedly confessed to his crime. Since the accused is a minor, we will forward him to a juvenile home on Tuesday. We are further investigating the case,” said Sundargarh Additional SP RN Barik.
