A body of a minor boy was found hanging in the toilet of a Government-run correctional home in Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district on Sunday night.
Though the exact reason behind the death was yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation revealed that the boy was a native of Nabarangpur district. He was staying in the institution run by the Women and Child Development Department and Mission Shakti from August 12 after he was convicted in a rape case.
Police on getting information reached the spot and started an investigation. The body was sent for postmortem. The exact cause of death would be ascertained after the postmortem report is availed. A case of unnatural death has been registered and probe was underway, police said.
