PNS

Pattamundai police on Friday arrested one Ambika Mallick and a 17-year-old Billa alias Santosh Mallick of Pokharikula village under Taradipala gram panchayat for brutally killing 43-year-old bigamist Subash Chandra Mallick of the same village.

The duo arrested was booked under various Sections of the IPC. While juvenile Santosh alias Billa was produced before the CJM Court of Kendrapada, Ambika was produced before the JMFC Court of Pattamundai.

According to police sources, 10 years back, deceased Subash had allegedly fled with his relative’s sister-in-law Sankjukta Mallick, the spouse of Sadhu Mallick, as both had an extra marital affair. Sanjukta’s children, who were below 10 years of age then, took it for granted that their family life was spoiled only due to Subash. Sanjukta’s son Billa most often faced humiliation from the locals for his mother’s unethical act.

Billa and his family members were seething in anger and were looking for an opportunity to take revenge on Subash. They hatched a plan to kill him and on the fateful day brutally attacked Subash with sharp weapons and killed him on the spot.

The Police said a hunt is on to nab Prasanna, Sadhu, Radhakanta and others for their involvement in the murder.
