In order to prepare an action plan for making Jharsuguda district free of tuberculosis (TB) and to discuss about its modalities, the district administration organised a meeting with all coalmines officials here on Friday.
A detailed picture about the hazards of TB was presented by the TB department at the meeting presided over by Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Patnaik.
Patnaik mentioned that due to lack of consciousness about TB and implementation of the preventive measures, the disease is spreading.
He also said plans have been made to check health of the workers engaged in the mines and industrial houses for a practical approach towards prevention of the disease.
The managements of the coalmines were advised to take all precautions in the residential area of the workers.
