J'suguda DDUGKY scam to be probed

PNS

Irregularities in the Deendayal Upadhyay Grameen Koushalya Yojana (DDUGKY) would not be tolerated under any circumstance, said Jharsuguda Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Patnaik on Tuesday.

He maintained that initially the allegations would be probed departmentally and subsequently be handed over to the Vigilance so that nobody is spared.

Notably, the Centre has made provision for training and placement of rural youths under the DDU-GKY. The Government has also sanctioned huge amount of money and engaged District Supply and Marketing Society (DSMS) for successful implementation of the scheme.

In Jharsuguda district, the Orient Security Solution Private limited is imparting training to unemployed youths through its various branches. The agency aims to give training and job to around 500 persons. However, out of 350 trainees so far, only 260 candidates have passed the training successfully. They should have been given placement as per the scheme after three months’ training, but, the agency has violated the norms for which it has been asked to explain, said DSMS chief executive Prabin Jha.

It is alleged that the agency has not given job to a single candidate after training; rather it is said to have misappropriated more than Rs 50 lakh meant for the trainees from the Centre. The truth would be unearthed once the probe is over, the Collector said.
