A microfinance company’s employees who had gone to collect money from the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at Pareswarapur village under Kujang block were looted cash of Rs 1.5 lakh by three motorcycle-borne miscreants on Saturday.
According to a finance company employee Devaranjan Mohapatra, after collecting cash of Rs1.5 lakh from few SHGs in Pareswarapur village, he was returning to Kujang when the miscreants intercepted them on the way by brandishing guns and snatched the cash bag and fled from the spot in a flash.
The Kujang police after lodging an FIR have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants. Preliminary investigation revealed that the miscreants had earlier hatched the plan and they were aware that the employees were carrying huge cash. The police have got some clues and the looters would be nabbed soon, informed Kujang PS IIC Bichitrananda Samal.
