The District Family Court was inaugurated by Orissa High Court Judge Justice AK Rath and Justice Pramatha Patnaik in a function held in the District Judge Court premises here on Saturday last.
Speaking at the event, Justice Rath said that a longstanding demand of Jagatsinghpur district was fulfilled after launching of the family court. Mostly family related cases as well as marriage and divorce seeking litigants would be benefited, he told.
Among others, District Judge RN Mishra, judicial officers from several courts, senior district administration officials, Superintendent of Police and District Bar Association members were present.
Bar association president Raj Kishor Behera read inaugural speech and secretary Devendra Nath Swain proposed vote of thanks. The Bar Association also demanded a Vigilance Court in Jagatsinghpur.
