A week-long 16th Jagatsinghpur Book Fair was inaugurated by former High Court Judge Justice Bimal Prasad Das at Collector office Parade Ground here on Thursday evening.
The book fair was organised by the Jagatsinghpur Sanskrutika Parishad, a socio cultural organisation working since 2000. District Collector Satya Kumar Mallick presided over the inaugural meeting. Inaugurating the fair, Justice Das said the people should increase their reading habits to nourish literature and language in the society. He emphasised upon compulsory Odia learning from pre-college classes. Jagatsinghpur MP Kulamani Samal appealed the gathering to purchase at least one book from the fair.
