Praffula Kumar Khandayatray, a resident of Odishagada village here, has been selected to participate in a wheelchair fencing competition meant for sportsperson with disability.
This international level competition will be held in Thailand in early May governed by the International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation.
Praffula had approached the Jagatsinghpur district administration to provide him with financial aid to meet his foreign trip expenses of around Rs 1.5 lakh.
On Tuesday he met the district Collector in her official chamber and requested to help him. Taking stock of Praffula’s past athletic records who has bagged many awards to his credit, Collector Patwari assured Praffula of providing him Rs 3 lakh from district CSR funds and wished him to bring success.
