In a show of unity, the councillors and the Chairperson of Joda Municipality Manjula Patra sat in dharna in front of the civic body office demanding a fulltime Executive Officer (EO).
The post has fallen vacant since September last after the transfer of EO Prasanta Kumar Sahu. Joda BDO, Arun Kumar Mallick has been given the additional charge of the EO.
Mallick is also in charge of Barbil Tehsildar. Ashok Kumar Naik ,Councillor (ward no-09) revealed that in this regard they had appraised to the authorities several times earlier, but no action was taken yet.
Notably, the Joda Civic body has always been remaining in news since it was formed in 2013 last. It was in news for disputes among the councillors , or between the councillors and the Chairperson.
