The State Government on Tuesday decided to develop a Jagannath Project spreading over 34 acre of land to develop guesthouses of different States to accommodate tourists in Puri.

The Government took the decision after it received requests from several State Governments to provide land to set up their guesthouses. Chief Minister Naveen Patnik held a review meeting in this regard on Tuesday.

Idco CMD Sanjay Singh said the Jagannath Project would be developed on 34 acre of land. The Government would provide infrastructure support for the project.

Besides guesthouses, parks, market complexes and footways would be constructed in the area.

Meanwhile, for the ensuing holy month of Kartik, temporary shelter arrangements for Habisyalis have been arranged at the Puti Municipality, Kalyan Mandap, Mochi Sahi, Bagala Dharmasala and Narendra Kona.

Aspirants can apply online for the purpose by October 7.
