The Jindal Steel and Power ltd (JSPl), Angul unit celebrated the 71st Independence Day with patriotic fervour here on Tuesday.
JSPl OP Jindal School chairman Naveen Jindal unfurled the Tricolour and paid tributes the freedom fighters for their sacrifices in achieving independence of India.
Jindal said, “Inspired by OP Jindal ji’s vision towards building a self reliant India, the JSPl is making all effort to contribute towards holistic socio-economic development of India.”
Students of OP Jindal School, DAV Savitri Jindal High School and OP Jindal Community College performed on a cultural programme filled with patriotic messages.
On the occasion, the JSPl foundation distributed food packets among 20,160 children of 71 local schools and 79 Anganwadi Centres in 19 gram panchayats in the district.
Among others, Angul Unit Executive Director and location Head DK Saraogi, Jindal Mahila Samiti president Sujata Saraogi, EVP and Head (SMS and DRI) Damodar Mittal, EVP and Group Head (CSR and Education) Prashant Kumar Hota, VP and Head (CSR) SK Sharma, Head (HR) Alok Malhotra and GM (Projects) Ashish Pandey were present.
