In a glaring instance of misuse of the social media for objectionable activities, a jilted lover in Sundargarh district allegedly uploaded objectionable photos of a college girl on social networking site Facebook after she spurned his marriage proposal.
After the incident came to light, the victim (19), who stays under the lephripada police station, approached the police.
Reports said a youth Raman (22) of Mahulpali village had been proposing to the girl repeatedly after collecting her mobile number.
The girl had met him at Karadega in 2013 during a wedding ceremony of her relative.
The youth was continuously pressurising the girl for marriage threatening to upload her obscene photographs on porn site if she does not agree to marry him. When she rejected his proposal, he uploaded her morphed pictures on Facebook after opening a fake account on the social networking site. The police are investigating into the case.
