Arrav Abinash Nayak, a Class-IX student of the Modern English School, Jeypore, visited the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) as a participant in the Young Astronomer Talents Search programme in Bengaluru.

Arrav prepared a model as “My Dream Destination” dreaming of establishment of human life and society in Mars. The model was appreciated at school level and zonal level and was selected for State-level participation in December.

Arrav was selected for the exposure visit to ISRO from May 9 to 14 where he got chance to interact with senior scientists and astronauts of the ISRO. “In ISRO I learnt a lot of things about satellite and its theory and also saw the satellite in real. I was suggested to prepare my own satellite project model to which I can send to ISRO for verification,” he said, adding, “I see my dreams to be fulfilled as they are giving enough scope to the students either from the IITs or some reputed branches, so that in future I expect myself to be placed as a scientist in ISRO too.”

Arrav’s teacher Pabitra Mallik guided him for his project. His father Basudev Nayak and mother Kalpana Nayak gave him the required support for preparing the project.

Arrav is now preparing a model on protection of plants in natural calamity and disaster situation for sending it to Google Science Fair.
