In fact, December 25 is a day of great joy and happiness for all because this is the day of the Christmas. This day is celebrated with great joy irrespective of religion. In this day Christians in particular go to the church and worship Lord Jesus. Yes, this year’s Christmas celebration has been impacted by Corona pandemic. Christmas is celebrated as the birthday of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is called the Son of God in the holy Bible. Let us discuss on the Biblical significance of Christ’s incarnation as a human being.
The reasons for the human birth in the world of Jesus Christ are clearly stated in the holy Bible. Jesus Christ was born of a Virgin Mary which is very amazing to man but possible to God. One of the main reasons for Jesus’s birth as a human being was to save the word and human beings from impending crisis.
He sacrificed his life on the cross and shed his own blood to save the fallen human race from their sin. God has created man in His own image and likeness. But all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. The wage of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus Christ. The Bible says the God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save the world through him. He was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our inequities.
We have been celebrating this day as Good Friday. Jesus said I did not come to judge the world but to save it. I did not speak of my own accord, but the Father who sent me, commanded me what to say and how to say it.
Another reason for the birth of Jesus Christ is to give light in a dark life. Men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed, but whoever lives the truth comes into light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God. The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going. The works of the darkness are drunkenness, orgies, sexual immorality, debauchery, dissension, jealousy etc. The enemy of everything Satan possesses all kinds of deceit and trickery. He who does what is sinful is of the Satan because the Satan has been sinning from the beginning in him. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the Satan’s work. The light shines in the darkness but the darkness has not understood it.
Jesus Christ is the Light of the world. Jesus spoke to the people that I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. Don’t be a child of darkness but be the child of light, so said Jesus.
His works and teachings are as amazing as his birth. Man needs true happiness or joyfulness. A person who is engaged in evil deeds, tired and burdened with various things has no rest, peace and joy. Jesus said, 'Come to me all you weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls.'
Today, there is almost no happiness or joy in the family or in the workplace. As a result personal life, family life and working life are filled with depression without joy or happiness. Happiness disappears because there is no stability of love in the family and in the workplace.
When iniquity increases, love cools. The Bible says love is patient, love is kind, love does not envy, love does not boast, love is not rude, love is not self-seeking, love does not delight in the evil but rejoices with the truth, love always trusts and Love never fails. Lord Jesus is called the Lover Jesus because he loves everyone unconditionally. Jesus’s teaching is unique and divine. He gave his disciples a word of hope that your sorrow will be turned into joy. He says 'love each other, even love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also.' He says that I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. Indeed there is no place of revenge in love and it decreases the hostility and problems are solved without complications. There is happiness and joy in the love. The God is the very manifestation of love.
