PNS

At the international conference on ‘Women Deliver’ held in Copenhagen in Denmark, Baleswar MP RK Jena raised the issues of cervical cancer, poverty, women trafficking, besides sustainable development goal for 2030.

He had a discussion with MPs from European Union and America on the issues. The experts said cervical cancer, even a dreaded one, can be cured if vaccinated timely. It occurs when abnormal cells on the cervix grow out of control. The cervix is the lower part of the uterus and can often be successfully treated when it’s found early. MP Jena stressed on creating awareness among people on the disease and get women vaccinated in advance.

In view of the fact that one woman dies of cervical cancer every eight minutes, he urged Anjali Nayar and Nilanjana Bose from the Global Health Strategy to conduct a pilot study  to fight the disease in Baleswar.
