The Vigilance police on Friday caught Dhrubananda Rout, Junior Engineer, R and B Section-II, SCB Medical College Hospital here, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs15,000.
Rout had demanded the money from a person for facilitating payment of bills and preparing the estimate of the additional work executed by him in the hospital.
Following the seizure, searches were carried out at the JE’s office and houses.
Later, he was arrested and forwarded to court, which sent him to judicial custody till March 17.
