Jawans' killing: BJP holds Govt responsible

PNS

BJP State president KV Singh Deo on Wednesday condemned the killing of four BSF personnel by Maoists in Koraput on Tuesday. The State administration has failed in curbing the Maoist menace, he said.

The maladministration and non-governance in the far-flung areas in the State is giving impetus to the Maoist activities, he said.

Singh Deo alleged that the State Government does not have a defined strategy but is only undertaking firefighting measures when attacks from the ultras occur. Ironically, even if there is an adequate presence of paramilitary forces in the State, the Government has failed to formulate a proper strategy to deploy them. The State Government has also been unable to create capacity or improve governance. Ministers and bureaucrats are unwilling to visit the districts to personally take charge, review implementation or assuage the frustration of the Adivasis, he further alleged.
