Japan is looking up East and North East of India in a big way. So, Odisha is expected to benefit from its aggressive investment programme.
A Japanese investors’ delegation is coming to the State being led by Ambassador Kenji Hiramatsu on November 11 for a two-day tour. Hiramatsu would attend the Make In Odisha (MiO) conclave here in which Japan is the partnering country. With Prime Minister Narendra Modi joining hands with his Japanese counterpart Sinzo Abe, now Japan is on a looking East mode. Hiramatsu will meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and discuss about a roadmap for investment in the State.
In fact, Japan is not only interested in Odisha but it is also eyeing other Eastern and North East States of India for investments. So, Hiramatsu will visit West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya and Sikkim too. He would be on tour from November11 to 17 covering all these States, said sources. Odisha is expecting a lot from Hiramatsu’s visit, for which the State Government is going to lay out a red carpet for him, said sources in the IPICOL in the Department of Industries, which is the nodal agency for the MiO.
