A 24-year-old youth has landed in jail for blackmailing his former girl friend’s family and posting nude photos of her in social media here. The incident occurred in a remote pocket under the Talachua Marine police station.
According to Talachua Marine police station IIC Sreekant Barik, one Dhanajaya Biswal (24) of Balisahi under Jajpur Sadar police limits had come in contact with a girl of Baradia under Talachua Marine police station through tiktok social media about one and a half years ago.
Later, he pretended to love the girl and taking advantage of the simplicity of the girl, the youth allegedly collected the nude photos and videos of the girl.
Even, he allegedly invited the girl to Pentha and compelled her to keep physical relationship with him. But when the girl refused, Dhanajaya demanded a sum of Rs 20,000 by threatening to make her nude photos and videos viral. He also threatened to kidnap her. When the victim girl brought the matter to her parents’ attention, the accused allegedly demanded Rs 50,000 from her parents.
He threatened to make her nude photos and videos viral in social media if the money was not paid. On June 3, Dhananjaya allegedly sent the nude photos and videos of the girl to some of her relatives in their Whatsapp numbers and also uploaded the nude photos by opening a fake account in the Facebook.
The victim’s father later lodged an FIR against Dhananjay. “Accused Dhanjaya Biswal was arrested by police under various Sections of IPC and Sections 66 (C), 66(E) and 67(A) of IT Act and produced before the JMFC court of Rajnagar on Wednesday ,where he was remanded in jail custody after his bail plea was rejected by the court,” said police.
