Vigilance police on Thursday caught Jajpur district’s Tomaka police station ASI Bijay Kumar Dash red-handed for taking bribe of Rs 5,000 from Amarendra Ray of Janida village for not to forward him to court. Dash’s residential house at Gopinathpur Shasan village in Kendrapada district was searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court. Similarly, Nayagarh district’s Ranapur Tehsildar office Head Clerk Digambara Mohanty was caught taking bribe of Rs 2,000 from complainant Bijaya Sahoo of Krushnachandrapur village to process his file for demarcation of his Gharabari land.During the raid Rs 1, 03,500 was also found in his office Almirah, which he could not account for satisfactorily. His rented residential house at Ranapur and residential quarter of his wife in the Konarka HospitalCampus.
