A man who had been imprisoned after his wife had brought allegation against him of dowry torture recently and later came out of jail on bail, accepted his wife and daughter after intervention of the Taluk legal Service Committee of Bonei.

Sources said Bhimsen Patra, a resident of Pandua village under Bonei police station limits, had married Rupei Patra, 20 years ago. The couple has two daughters. Elder daughter is married and another daughter is 17 years old. Recently, Rupei had brought an allegation against Bhimsen that he was torturing her for dowry. She along with her daughter had left the house of Bhimsen and had gone to stay with her parents. Bonei police then had registered a case under IPC section 498(a) against Bhimsen and had arrested him and forwarded him to court. Bhimsen had been put behind the bar.

However, a few days after Bhimsen came out of jail on bail; the case is pending in the SDJM court. Rupei applied in the Taluk legal Service Committee at Bonei for reconciliation between herself and her husband. She and her daughter also wanted to stay with Bhimsen.

The Taluk legal Service Committee headed by its Chairman and Sub judge Ashish Kumar Tirpathy called both Bhimsen and Rupei for reconciliation. Rupei accepted her fault of having brought dowry torture allegation against her husband that finally landed Bhimsen in jail. But she said that now she was eager to stay with Bhimsen. This made Bhimsen forgive her and accept Rupei and their daughter.

While this case was resolved Taluk legal Service Committee Chairman Tripathy, SDJM Gopabandhu Gadnayak, Government advocate Tusharkanti Sahu and committee member Digambar Pradhan were present.
