Purna Chandra Behera (56), who was languishing as an inmate in Kendrapada sub jail for last three days in a domestic violence case, died on Friday night in the Kendrapada Sub-Jail.
The Jail authority shifted Purna to the District Headquarters Hospital, but he was declared brought dead by the doctor.
Purna, a resident of Balia under Derabish police station, died due to cardiac arrest, said jail sources.
The deceased had been remanded in jail custody on December 30 in a domestic violence case which was registered in Derabisi police station.
