Jagdish Tytler warns against indiscipline in State Cong

Any act of indiscipline by party workers and leaders would not be tolerated as unity and collective efforts are needed to dislodge the BJD Government in the 2014 elections in the State, AICC Odisha in-charge Jagdish Tytler said here on Tuesday.

"Indiscipline will not be tolerated in the party at all. Anybody indulging in acts of indiscipline will face action," Tytler told reporters after arriving here from New Delhi.

Stating that none would be neglected or discriminated against in the party in the State where polls are due next year, Tytler said indiscipline and factionalism by anybody, however, big a leader he may be, would be suicidal as unity and collective action are of utmost importance.

The Congress high command has given newly-appointed PCC president Jayadev Jena full power and authority to curb indiscipline in the party, he said.

Stating that Jena had played a major role in curbing indiscipline in Assam when he was AICC secretary in-charge of that State, Tytler said Congress president Sonia Gandhi had sent him a letter of appreciation for this.

Dismissing the allegation that the Congress played caste card in appointing Dalit leader Jena as PCC president, Tytler said, "It is not correct. I don't believe this. It was the wisdom of the high command to do what is best in the present situation."

On the issue of Vedanta's bauxite mining project in the Niyamgiri Hills in Kalahandi and Rayagada districts, Tytler said everything in this regard should be done as per the Supreme Court’s directive.

Jayadev Jena, who was present, said that with the cooperation of all sections and collective efforts, the Congress would capture power in the 2014 polls dislodging the BJD.
