The week-long 16th Jagatsinghpur Book Fair, organised by the Sanskrutika Parishad here, concluded on Wednesday night.Attending the valedictory ceremony as the chief guest, Excise Minister Damodar Rout spoke about the art and culture of the district as well as its contributions to the Odia literature. Citing example, the Minister highlighted the contributions of great poet late Sarala Das, who’s epic Mahabharat still holds popularity in villages.
Rajya Sabha MP Ranjiv Biswal, Tirtol MlA Rajashree Mallick, Zilla Parishad president DD Mohanty and block chairman Prasnna Swain also spoke on the occasion.District Collector and Sanskrutika Parishad president SK Mallick chaired the meeting while Parishad working president Hemant Rath gave vote of thanks. The book fair this year drew huge crowd that helped printers, publishers, book sellers to make a brisk business.
