Even as State BJP leaders and workers felt happy over Amit Shah’s first-ever attack on the Naveen Patnaik Government, main opposition Congress still smelt of a secret link between the saffron party and the State’s ruling BJD.
PCC president Prasad Harichandan said, “It was not a BJP Mahasamavesh; it was a show of Maha Bujhamana (big understanding) between the BJD and the BJP.”
To substantiate his claim, he wanted to know why Shah was silent on the sensitive Mahanadi issue and the mining scam probe. “Why he didn’t utter a single word on these two issues, which have impacted Odisha people in a big way,” he asked.
BJD spokesperson Pratap Dev said Shah’s meeting would have no impact on people of the State. “We have all answers to Shah’s questions. If this is the
trailer (people’s response to Shah), we know what would be the film (winning of BJP in coming elections),” he remarked.
