Viki Viswakarma, a youth of Sambalpur town working in the CRPF, was deployed in J&K for the by-election duty. After completion of the election, Viki along with his colleagues, were returning to the camp, when some anti-social youths encircled them and attacked them brutally.

“We had all sorts of sophisticated arms and ammunitions. But instruction to us was totally different. We were told to restrain to the maximum. Hence, we tolerated everything silently,” said Viki who came to Sambalpur on leave.

“We were returning to the camp after the election duty with the presiding and the polling officers when the anti social youths attacked us. But we were undone,” recalled Viki. They told us, “Indians go back,” added Viki.

It needs a mention that Viki, a resident of Sambalpur town in the Poddar Colony, is working in the 50 Battalion of CRPF since 2011 and posted in lalgad of West Bengal. He went to J&K for the recently completed by-election duty where he faced the hurdles and saw the hatred of a few Kashmir youths towards India.

“There youths told us to say Pakistan Jindabad. But we were prepared to sacrifice our lives and determined not to dance to their tune,” recalled Viki. “We got immediate relief when the Army patrolling vehicle reached,” he added.
