The nine-member CBI team, which probed the murder of teacher Itishree Pradhan in Rayagada, left for New Delhi on Tuesday after a preliminary investigation. The team, led by CBI SP BK Singh, had begun the investigation on February 25. During its eight-day stay in the district, the team had visited the Tikiri Upper Primary School and interrogated the school staff, former school headmaster Chandrasekhar Panda. Besides, it also interrogated Abha and Manorama, wives of Netrananda Dandasena, former headmaster of the school who is currently lodged in jail, and his daughter Nalini.
The team had also visited the local Sub-Jail and collected information about the visitors who had met Dandasena. The CBI SP has, meanwhile, gone through all documents including the complaints lodged by Itishree after collecting them from the district administration. It is yet to be known whom the CBI would call for interrogation during its team’s next visit to the district.
