Itishree case: CM hoodwinks people

Pioneer News Service

It is disappointing to note that the Chief Minister turned down the Opposition’s demand in the Assembly for a CBI inquiry into the killing of schoolteacher Itishree Pradhan. The CM also said that there has been no laxity in investigation of the issue.

This is not true. Had there been proper investigation then the main culprit who set the teacher on fire would have been caught by now after more than one month of the crime. The CM said the case is very serious, but till now the Government has not taken any serious steps to stop such type of crimes against women at their workplaces.

Moreover, no concrete actions have been taken against the senior Government officials in spite of their inefficiency and inability. It’s time the CM acted against the inefficient DM and SP, whose prompt action would have saved the life of Itishree. The CM must not hoodwink the common people again and again.
