ITI PTGIs stage demo for job regularisation

PNS

Part Time Guest Instructors (PTGIs) of the Government ITIs in the State staged a demonstration at the lower PMG here on Tuesday protesting the apathetic attitude of the State Government in fulfilling their longstanding demand of job regularisation.

The PTGIs under the banner of the All Odisha Government ITI Part Time Guest Instructors’ Association (AOGITIPTGIA) alleged that it’s been three years since the skilled PTGIs are demanding regularization of their service. Many assurances have been given on behalf of the Government, but the demand is yet to be fulfilled.

“The Chief Minister had assured us to consider our demand three years back. Even the concerned director had filed an affidavit in the court regarding regularization of our jobs in 2014. Besides, in November last year, Technical Education Minister Sanjay Das Burma had promised us to fulfil our demand within seven days. But, neither the Chief Minister nor the concerned minister or director has kept their promises. Not a single step has been taken yet to meet the genuine demand,” lamented association president Purna Chandra Behera.

later, five-member team of the body submitted a memorandum to Governor SC Jamir in this regard. In Jamir’s absence, Personal Secretary to the Governor Pradeep Rath received the memorandum and assured the team to take necessary steps soon toward fulfillment of the demand.
