The Vigilance police have conducted a probe in to the allegations of massive corruptions in the land acquisition and disbursal of compensation to the land owners in Biju Expressway from Sohela to Nuapada work. DSP Ravinarayan Patra conducted the probe and found irregularities.
The R and B Department is undertaking the work since last year.
The Junior Engineer of the department instead of taking the help of RI and Amin for measurement of land is using private RI and Amin. Thus measurement works are not done fairly and transparently. The locals had demanded a probe by the Vigilance into the irregularities.
A person of Saradhapali village under Sohela Block has only six decimals land, who got Rs 8 lakh as compensation. However, an influential person of Jampali village under same block got Rs1 crore as compassion illegally for same size land. In this road many private lands have been acquired and compensation disbursed to the land owner. But some corrupted officials of the R and B department have been bending rules for vested interest.
Patra said that more investigations will be conducted into the matter.
