The Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) has announced its support for the February 18 nationwide strike call given by International Trade Unions and the Joint Action Committee in the national level.
Passing a resolution at the two-day 288 workers’ committee meeting held at Bhopal on February 6 and 7, the INTUC national secretary Ramachandra Khuntia slammed the NDA Government for its attempt to weaken the labour strike by amending the labour law.
The trade union leaders also slammed the NDA Government for its proposal to privatise the coal industry in the country. A book titled ‘The Voice of labour in Parliament’ written by Khuntia was also released on the occasion.
