Dr Debendranath Behera, Government Autonomous College, Rourkela (GACR) Principal, a well-known educationist, is now recognised internationally.
Recently, he was conferred with the International Education Excellence Award in Dubai (UAE) for his outstanding contributions for development of education.
The award to Dr Behera has not only brought glory for himself, but it is also a pride for the institution he head, its faculty members and students, they feel. According to them, after Dr Behera has developed the college many folds. Due his tireless efforts, the infrastructure of the institution has not only developed but also the quality of education has improved. The most important factor which has occurred in his leadership is timely conduct of examinations and results publication.
In a couple of years, the institution has been allowed by the State Government to open master degree courses in more than fifteen subjects and MPhil courses in many subjects. The way Dr Behera is working and devoted for the institution, it would not be late for the institution becoming a university, claim faculties and students.
Notably in recent past, Dr Behera has been honoured with a number of State and national-level awards.
