PNS

In view of the rising Covid-19 cases across the State, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided not to allow people coming from the hotspot districts for home quarantine option.

The RMC said people coming to the steel city from districts like Khrodha, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Baleswar,

Nayagarh, Puri, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda and Balangir would have to undergo institutional quarantine mandatorily  for 14 days.

Earlier, those having facilities in their house (separate room and bathroom) were allowed to undergo home quarantine in the RMC area.

On July 2, the RMC declared several areas in Sector-16 as containment zone after detection of a Covid-19 positive case. Meanwhile, door-to-door survey by RMC health teams is underway as part of an integrated health surveillance. This would continue till July 31.
