The corporate and industrial establishments in Odisha have been advised to go for vaccination programmes through their own hospitals or by tagging to private hospitals’ Covid Vaccination Centres (CVCs).

Under the Liberalised Pricing and Accelerated National Covid-19 Vaccination Strategy, private hospitals can procure vaccine directly from the manufacturers.

With the phase-III vaccination programme going on, the State Government has advised the corporate and industrial establishments to vaccinate their employees and their family members by procuring vaccines of their own through their own hospitals; or if a hospital is not available, they can do it by tagging with a private hospital’s CVC.

In order to accelerate the vaccination drive, ACS, Health, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has issued the guidance order on vaccination at workplaces for both Government and private sectors. The phase III vaccination is meant for 18-44 years and 45 years and above age group. The family members and dependants of the workers can also be covered with vaccination at the industrial CVCs, private workplace CVCs and Government workplace CVCs.

For industrial and private workplace CVCs, the vaccine doses would have to be procured by private hospitals or industrial establishments. For Government workplace CVCs, people of 45 years and above may be covered through the State Government vaccine supply, the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has said in its recent directive to the State Government.

Therefore, corporate and industrial establishments would have to plan for vaccination of the employees and their family members by creating workplace CVCs in CoWIN as per feasibility and similarly inform industrial establishment, private hospitals on workplace vaccination, said the guidance order.
