Mass marriage held at Emami Jagannath temple
Baleswar: A mass marriage ceremony was held in the campus of Jagannath temple of the Emami Paper Mill on Thursday on the occasion of the temple’s foundation day As many as 52 couples tied the nuptial knot. Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal along with other dignitaries attended the function. Rajya Sabha member and Padma awardee sculptor Raghunath Mohapatra was also present.
Minor girl raped in Baleswar
Baleswar: The Raibania police registered a case of rape of a 14-year-old differently-abled girl after the victim’s mother lodged a complaint with them. It was alleged that the girl was sexually assaulted by one 22-year-old Bapa Bindhani of village Chamaragaon on November 25 night when her father was out to witness an opera and mother was fast asleep.
Bike crash: One dies, 3 injured in B ‘swar
Baleswar: In a head-on collision between two bikes, a person died on the spot and three others sustained serious injures near Ishani in Baleswar on Friday morning. The deceased was identified as Raju Dalai (20) of Inchudi .The injured Shiva Marandi (20), Dipu Besra (18) and Bapunu Marandi (19) were admitted in a hospital.
