A joint eviction team consisting of officials from the BDA and the BMC on Friday demolished unauthorised constructions from the backside of the Sahid Nagar Durga Puja Mandap here under the Sahid Nagar PS.
During the drive, a RCC shed (club house), a thatched house (hotel) and an AC-sheeted house (fast food stall) were demolished. Two excavators of the BMC and the BDA were engaged for the demolition drive.
Additional Commissioner-cum-Member Enforcement, Bhabani Shankar Chayani, BDA Enforcement Officer Pramod Patro and liaison Officer Subhransu Sekhar Mohanty were present.
The joint eviction team also demolished unauthorised constructions from the road from Kalpana Square to Jyote Motors (both sides) under the Badagada PS.
Seven cabins, five temporary shops, 11 snacks shops, five betel shops, three Gamla and flower shops, six fruit shops, three temporary hotels, an advertisement kiosk of the Jyote Motors and an advertisement stage of Honda Motors were demolished.
