Social organisation Kanyaa Anmol Hai (KAH), known for its work on protecting girl children, has embarked upon an innovative programme to felicitate outstanding women for their inspiring works.
Named appropriately as ‘Charan Sparsh’, the initiative has been taken to present a platform that celebrates the life, work and legacy of female living legends of Odisha who have inspired generations of girls and women in Odisha and beyond to excel in different professions.
The doyen of Odia devotional songs Shantilata Barik, legendary mountaineer Kalpana Das, inspiring teacher and literary genius Dr Sanghamitra Mishra and veteran Odia actress Namrata Das were unanimously chosen by the jury for their excellent work in different fields.
The award will be conferred in a special pragramme on December 23. National coordinator, KAH, Saroj Dash feels a strong need to celebrate the life and work of the iconic women.
KAH founder Sasmita Dash, president Amiyabala Parida, co-chairperson Anshu Tripathy, Archana Panigrahi, Sagar Dash and Suryanarayan Mohanty will be present on the occasion.
