Vigilance sleuths on Saturday held laxmibai Guru, Kalahandi district’s lanjigarh ICDS Project CDPO, on charge of accepting bribe of Rs 20,000 from a self-help group (SHG) functionary for passing a bill.
Champa Majhi, secretary of Maa Chandi SHG, Durabhatta under Kalahandi district’s Narla police station had lodged a complaint that Guru demanded the bribe money for passing the bill amount of Rs 2,46,000 towards supply of Chhatua to the Angawadi Centres of lanjigarh Raod and Bijipur Sector.
Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance officers laid a trap and caught Guru red-handed in her residential quarter at lanjigarh. Further investigation is on.
