A seminar on Service Tax and TDS was organised by the Bhubaneswar Branch of the Eastern India Regional Council (EIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) here on Wednesday. Around 200 members participated in the seminar held in two sessions.
Chairing the session on service tax, Service Tax Commissioner Sanjeev G Dewalwar and author Rohini Aggarwal from New Delhi address the participants on overview of service tax. They stressed on the 0.5 per cent Swachh Bharat Tax on services that has been introduced with effective from November 15.
Presiding over the session on TDS, Income Tax (TDS) Commissioner N Jayasankar and charted accountant Sunil Surana from Kolkata discussed on the recent amendments in TDS. Bhubaneswar branch chairman Sanjay Kumar Agrawalla, vice-chairman Amit Kumar Agarwalla, treasurer Sidhartha Ranjan and managing committee Member Raja Narayan Tripathy were present.
