Various institutions here celebrated the 68th Independence Day with zeal and zest on Friday.Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Bikash Mohapatra hoisted the National Flag in the Khallikote College playground. Brahmapur Development Authority Chairman Subash Moharana was honoured with ‘Prakruti Mitra Award’ for his dream to make Brahmapur a green city.
Among others, local MlA RC Chyau Pattnaik, BMC Commissioner Dr Ajit Mishra, BMC Mayor K Madhavi and SP Anirudha Singh were present.The NTR Seva Samiti celebrated the national fest at Bhapur Bazar with noted social worker and MASM member Dr AR Verma hoisting the Tricolor on its behalf.The College of Pharmaceutical Sciences observed the day in its campus at Mohuda. President of the college managing committee Debashish Padhi and secretary V Jagannath hoisted the flag here. Similarly, the Ganjam Bar Association observed the day with its president Basant Kumar Panda hoisting the National Flag.
Other institutions and associations like the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) Bar Association and the Ganjam Zilla Vikas Manch observed the fest with much fervor. While Kailash Chandra Swain hoisted the Tricolour on the MACT behalf, veteran trade union leader and educationist Govind Das hoisted the flag on behalf of the Vikas Manch.
