In a dowry death case registered at the Tirtol police station three days ago, police arrested the killer husband on Thursday and forwarded him to court.
Reports said that Pramila, wife of Prasanta Das of Olagada village under Kolara panchayat in Tirtol block died on Monday. Her parental brother Devendra Das lodged an FIR alleging that his sister was murdered by her husband and in-laws due non-fulfilment of dowry demand during marriage.
In another case in Jagatssinghpur district, a man was arrested from Anantapur village in the Balikuda area on Thursday for allegedly molesting a minor girl in the same village.
The girl’s parents had lodged a complaint at the Anantapur police outpost in this regard. Police acted promptly, sent the victim for medical examination and arrested the accused.
