In a bid to make people aware about the urgent need of equality between boys and girls in terms of education, nutrition and honour, child right organisation Centre for Child and Women Development (CCWD) in collaboration with the Save the Children organised a human chain here to mark the National Girl Child Day on Tuesday.
Around 70 persons, including girls, social activists, college students and members of Child Protection Committees participated in the human chain organised at lower PMG.
“For the wellbeing of every girl child we all irrespective of our positions should join hands to curb the inequalities meted out to the fairer sex in the State and also in the country,” said CCWD secretary Sadasiv Swain.
